The Weekly Trip to Tiruvallikeni during Kanchipuram Brahmotsavam Days

It is a matter of pride that the weekly saturday trip to Tiruvallikeni coincided with the Kanchipuram Brahmotsavam days. Sometime back, we have been discussing about Kanchipuram Brahmotsavam, which has a unique feature that it is celebrated in all Varadaraja temples at the sametime. Today, I started only towards afternoon. I just had a halt in my workplace and then resumed my  journey to the temple after sunset. You know why.  Interestingly, when I came to the Halda junction, I saw a 21L coming. It was a middle-entrance bus but the usual footboarders had fully blocked the way. The driver knew me a bit since I normally commute the same bus from Velacherry to Halda and he stopped anyway. There was one entrance near the driver but reserved for women only. Sometimes bending the rules helps. I had to dart in the bus using that route. And this trick helped save a lot of time to destination besides a lot of destination and strenous journey.

After I reached the temple and had the darshan of Thayar and Azhagiya Singer, I saw that Goshti (group recital of slokams/prayers) was going on for Gajendra Varadar. It was a unique and blissful moments to hear the mangalasasanams at least from Tiruvallikeni, if not directly from Kanchipuram. After the Goshti was over, they started distributing prasadams. Tiruvallikeni is known for persons who distribute prasadams only to thier 'known' persons. They use a lot of tricks to uphold this and you need to apply different strategies to get your way through. Somehow, with God's blessings, I also got Sundal prasadam and started back to home at about 2000 hours.

The buses were bit crowdy and hence I chose to prefer Tiruvanmiyur - Tambaram route. One tourist cab offered to provide a lift for INR 10 Rupees. So jumped into it till Thiruvanmiyur and then caught T51 to reach Tambaram around 2230 hours.  There were good humourous incidents to narrate in this trip, which I would keep updating in due course.
